This is my new Ottawa Senators blog.
My name is Éric and I’ve been a fan of the Ottawa Senators since their inaugural season.
Some of my more memorable Senators’ moments are:
- Eagerly booing Yashin in his return from his year long hold-out against Dallas. Then not really knowing what to do when he scored the season’s first goal.
- Watching Steve Duchesne’s wrist shot from the blue line to clinch the Senators’ first playoff birth.
- The floor rumbling under my feet in the Corel Centre’s 3rd level when Adverson scored his goal in Game 7 against New Jersey.
- The final 2 minute standing ovation of Round 1 last year against Pittsburgh.
Not until I spent some time in Halifax, NS did I know how hard it was to be a Sens fan. With the majority of East Coasters being either Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens or Boston Bruins fans, many nights were spent surrounded by opposing jerseys.
But I’ve been through the lows and they just made last year’s ride even better!
